Ease 20 Medium
The Ease 20 is the entry point into TEMPUR’s own range: a layer of TEMPUR Adapt material over a DuraBase support layer, finished with a cover that unzips and machine washes at 30 °C. A queen measures 152 by 203 cm, stands 20 cm deep and weighs 25.8 kg. It is designed in Denmark and made in Europe, and it is sold through retailers rather than by TEMPUR directly.
Two things are genuinely good here. The material is the reference point the rest of the category is measured against for pressure relief, and this is the least expensive way to sleep on it. And the ten-year guarantee is stated as full replacement for the whole term rather than tapering to a pro-rata payout — a distinction most rivals leave unsaid. Seven Australian retailers stock it, so the price is something you can shop rather than accept.
The costs are unusually concentrated. There is no sleep trial from TEMPUR or from the retailer, and Ease comes in one feel only — medium — so if the feel is wrong for you there is neither a firmer version to switch to nor a way to send it back. At 20 cm there is less comfort layer to work with than in a typical 25–30 cm build, the warranty does not publish the indentation depth a claim would be judged against, and TEMPUR’s Australian site lists no prices at all, so you cannot tell whether a showroom quote is a good one before you walk in.
Cooling Properties
Dense conforming foam holds heat more than an open spring structure does, and the Ease pages name no cooling technology at all. TEMPUR sells a separate SmartCool range, which tells you where this one sits.
Pressure Relief
This is what TEMPUR material is for. It conforms slowly and completely to the shape pressed into it, which is why the category still measures itself against it.
Responsiveness
Slow to release is the defining property of this material. Changing position means climbing out of the impression you made, which some sleepers find reassuring and others find restrictive.
Motion Isolation
Solid foam with no spring layer absorbs a partner’s movement rather than transmitting it. The same slow response that limits bounce works in your favour here.
